I hope everyone had as wonderful 4th of July, as I have. Perhaps I should’ve taken photos of the fireworks instead of the people taking photos of the fireworks

Today Photographer Wyatt Gallery launched an annual Print Sale to benefit selected charities. This year he is offering the choice of four photographs taken in Tobago at the beautiful Blue Water’s Inn. Last week I had the honour of meeting French street artist, and this year’s TED Prize winner, JR. His work, his approach to his work, and the impact he has had on the world already, have been a major source of inspiration for me since.
This year I decided to finally make my foray into Trinidad Carnival, for 2012′s TRIBE presentation of “Take Me To…” Naturally my design is called “The Runway” !! The costume was loosely inspired by Native American tribes in their use of feathers, animal tooth and other raw elements to create stunning, sometimes sensual garments. To the base monokini I added a dynamic printed silk to expand the horizons of the usual “pretty mas” and give my masqueraders even more of the feeling that they are walking a real runway while on the road.
